Avril has a unique background combining scientific research and clinical physiotherapy.

After completing a PhD in Virology at Cambridge University, she later gained her MSc in Physiotherapy from the University of East Anglia in 2010.

She has worked in both NHS and private physiotherapy settings, including Spire Hospital and Norwich Practices Ltd where she led a team of 22 physiotherapists.

Avril has extensive experience working with elite athletes across sports such as gymnastics, football and rugby. A former national-level gymnast and British Veteran Champion, she is also an enthusiastic climber, snowboarder and mountain biker.
